Ethiopia Aricha Natural 100% Arabica Speciality Grade Coffee

About This Coffee

This exceptional Grade 1 natural microlot originates from the renowned Aricha Wet Mill in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Managed by Cherab na Betesebu, the mill processes ripe coffee cherries from around 650 local smallholder farmers who grow their crops at elevations reaching up to 2,100 metres above sea level (masl).

The Region

Aricha lies in the Yirgacheffe district of the Gedeo Zone, within Ethiopia’s Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ (SNNP) region. Over the years, Yirgacheffe has built a distinguished global reputation for producing some of the finest and most sought-after Ethiopian coffees.

The region’s high altitude (up to 2,200m), fertile volcanic soil, consistent rainfall, and generations of coffee-growing expertise contribute to the outstanding quality of Yirgacheffe coffee. The indigenous heirloom varietals, which grow naturally in Ethiopia’s coffee forests, are responsible for the distinctive flavour profile that defines this exceptional region.

Naturally processed through sun-drying, these beans deliver juicy, jammy stone-fruit flavours balanced by floral and chocolate notes, with a creamy, full-bodied finish — a true reflection of premium Ethiopian speciality coffee.

The Process

This coffee is shade-grown and hand-harvested at peak ripeness. Once delivered to the Aricha mill, the cherries are carefully sorted to ensure only the finest are selected. They are then sun-dried on raised African beds for approximately 12–15 days.

During the day, the cherries are raked and turned regularly to ensure even drying, then covered between 12pm and 3pm to protect them from excessive sunlight, and again at night to prevent moisture from rainfall.

Once the cherries reach the perfect moisture level, the coffee is milled, graded, sorted, and meticulously handpicked before being sealed in GrainPro bags for maximum freshness. It is then exported via the Port of Djibouti, ready for coffee lovers around the world to enjoy.
