Robinson Rivera Muelas: A Skilled Coffee Grower from Piendamó, Cauca
Robinson Rivera Muelas: Champion Coffee Farmer in Piendamó, Cauca Robinson Rivera Muelas, a 38-year-old coffee farmer, hails from Piendamó, Cauca. His farm, El Silencio, is located in the village of El Agrado at an impressive altitude of 1,740 metres above sea level (masl). On his farm, Robinson cultivates the prized Caturra coffee variety, producing approximately 7,000kg of dry parchment coffee each year.
Supporting Small Coffee Growers with Unique Processing Techniques
Beyond his own production, Robinson plays a vital role in supporting smaller local growers. Many of these growers lack access to proper processing facilities, so Robinson processes and dries their coffee cherries. His innovative double anaerobic fermentation technique involves an initial anaerobic phase, followed by an aerobic stage toward the end of the process. The coffee is then carefully dried using a combination of mechanical and parabolic dryers, ensuring consistent quality.

Robinson has been a dedicated member of the local growers' association, Asociación de Cafeteros de Cauca (ACC), for six years. As a founding partner and legal representative, he actively contributes to improving coffee production practices in the region.
